Reiki Is a spiritual practice developed by Mikao Usui. Reiki originated from Japan. Reiki is a natural form of healing. It is applied through non-invasive touch. This form of therapy aims to increase energy levels and promote relaxation and wellbeing. The underlying philosophy of Reiki is that if a person’s life force energy is low, they are more likely to be stressed or unwell. The higher our life force the more energy and vitality we have to being happy and well. Reiki will help the energetic body to bring about the ability for the body to heal itself. Reiki can be used in your daily life – everyone can be taught to be able to understand and be Reiki for their own health and wellbeing.

Reiki Level 1 -
One on One training also available
First Degree
At first level (Shoden) there are 4 attunements. Some people believe that each of the 4 attunements empowers a different “body” or aspect of our being: the physical, the mental, the emotional, and the spiritual.
My first Reiki Master, taught me that the:
First attunement opens the Heart Chakra.
Second attunement opens the Throat Chakra
Third attunement opens the Third Eye Chakra, also known as the Centre of Higher Consciousness and Intuition.
The fourth attunement opens the Crown Chakra, which is our connecting link with the Spiritual Consciousness.
This final attunement seals the channel open, so you can transmit the Reiki energy permanently.
The attunement aligns and opens up energy channels which allow the student to begin channelling Reiki energy to assist them in raising their vibrations.
They can also lay their hands on other people, animals, plants, crystals, earth, rocks or anything else their imagination comes up with - and the Reiki flows.
Students are encouraged to do Gassho and repeat the Five Precepts every morning and every evening.
It is also beneficial for students to give themselves a Reiki treatment every day.

Reiki Level 11 -
Second Degree
This level is considered "the deep inside":
It takes us deeper into the individual aspects of the energy we call Reiki. Students are given Kotodama and the symbols.
They are encouraged to practise each Kotodama on an individual basis for many days, until they intuitively feel “close to the energies”.
Students are also encouraged to practise with the symbols and begin using both the Kotodama and symbols while giving Reiki to themselves and also to others.
At second degree students learn to connect with other beings by realizing the Oneness of all life and by putting this into practice while doing distant healing. In Japan, it was common for a student to work as long as 9 months at becoming intimate with the different energies and the consciousness of Oneness. Students are given exercise/techniques for increasing their capacity and understanding for the Reiki energies.Students receive Reiju (attunement/initiation), which indicates they have reached the second level.
My first Reiki Master, taught that ‘attunements’ at this level affect the Third Eye or Sixth Chakra greatly, which often heightens the intuitive abilities of the student.

Reiki Level 111
At this level students are given Reiju/attunement which indicates they are at the third level.
In the Western Reiki, this is considered Reiki Master, though we now know that it is a life long process (or many lives) to “Master” these energies and this next step is only the beginning of the process.
For me this level means the student is highly focused on achieving personal perfection and continues to grow and practise with the Five Precepts. If you are considering becoming a Reiki Master I encourage you to meditate for many days on what this means to you. One can actually be a “Master”, for the learning is great and is never ending.The student is taught the process of the Reiki attunement, as well as the practise of giving Reiju.
